  • My office has been at the Hong Kong Arts Centre for 16 years. I can remember fondly my office space and the view from the window. This painting depicts a vase of sun flowers, on top of a mound of earth, like an art installation, inside Hong Kong Arts Centre. I hope this imaginary scene brings positive energy to this good earth we live in.
  • Is nude paintings still relevant? According to Wikipedia, quote: “Feminism has criticized the nude as an objectual use of the female body and a sign of the patriarchal dominance of Western society”. A perfect example is Édouard Manet's “The Luncheon on the Grass”. Most nudes from Goya to Freud, seems to depict a passive sitters at the mercy of the painters. They are purposelessly sitting in traditional poses and their bodies are the subject in the paintings. Here I want to depict a nude who just enjoys the freedom of bidding on the phone, hence the title “Sorry, you have just been outbid by the lady on the phone”.
